Footer

The footer is present on every page under ec.europa.eu. It provides supplementary information such as copyright, legal, privacy, social media, contact information and links to other important sections within the EC ecosystem.

The footer appears at the bottom of every ec.europa.eu pages.

It is divided into 2 functional areas:

  • The main content area serves as an extra entry point to the most important sections of the site, social media platforms and other EU institutions.
  • The secondary content area is reserved for information concerning the Commission's web presence, resources for partners, cookies & privacy, legal notices and contact information.

Custom footer

The custom footer is an exception, it's only used when the corporate footer areas do not satisfy the requirements of the specific DG, project, campaign, etc.

The custom footer can contain:

  • identification of the site name
  • information on connecting to social platforms
  • contact information
  • other relevant information, such as a link to the site map

  • Always, at the bottom of every page of the European Commission's websites.
